High power antennas
The router is designed with three external antennas with high power amplifiers like it’s rivals that have been around maturely with big names such as new version of D-link AC1900 D-link 879 router in addition of DIR-880L, and like another Chinese vendor TP-link P5 touch screen in addition of Archer C9, and still more models with high power amplifiers. Moreover, this cheap wireless AC1900 router is ready with Beamforming technology to boost the range.
Beamforming technology is like pointing the wifi client device (with Beamforming ready) with beam of signal to connect solidly and following the device wherever it is roaming within the household. So far, not many wifi adapters with Beamforming technology ready. D-link DWA-192 is one of wireless USB adapter which is ready with Beamforming technology. 3x LAN ports
Probably to cut the cost, Tenda offers only three gigabit LAN ports like mostly Mac router products such as Apple Airport Extreme when most vendors offer standard 4x gigabit LAN ports in addition of 1x Gigabit WAN port. Most users mostly connect the clients with wifi connections, that’s reasonable why they choose speedy wireless routers. Only couple of Ethernet based devices such as desktop computer, blue-ray player or Internet-TV connect using wired gigabit connection. Three Gigabit LAN ports is appropriate for most home users.
1x USB 3.0 port
With the same number of 3x Gigabit LAN ports as Apple Airport Extreme, Tenda AC15 is one step more superior with the inclusion of 1x USB 3.0 port compared with Airport Extreme which only comes with 1x USB 2.0 port. Even its rival D-link DIR-879 doesn’t come with any single USB port. You can also configure the port as the personal and secure cloud storage and with the built-in print-server feature you can easily submit print-jobs to the attached printer.
Unfortunately only one USB port available, so you cannot host both storage and printer at the same time, probably yes to cut the cost. That’s reasonable, Tenda tag the price for AC15 half the price of D-link DIR-880L (around $140), or one third the price of Linksys WRT 1900ACS (around $204).
You can compare Tenda AC15 wireless AC1900 router with entry level Wireless AC750 routers which the price is around $50 averagely. This product is one of cheap wireless router with AC1900 network segment, the price is tagged around $70, it is worth of purchasing this product to upgrade your aging router at home.
